Financial Support

Funds and Grants

The purpose of these funds is to support faculty who do not currently have substantial extramural or startup funding for their projects. The Special Initiatives program is meant to support community building on campus—workshops, conferences, and so on. The Research Grants program supports research and grant writing in order to seed promising projects for future extramural funding. Our aim is not to supplant other sources of funding on campus such as from the Senate Grant Funding, CRES , or DEI, or the faculty member’s own startup funds. We aim to use divisional resources to strategically target projects that fall outside of existing funding categories, and to boost early stage faculty and early stage projects with extramural funding potential.
