Melina received her B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, majoring in Biological Anthropology, History, and Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations. She is interested the impact of harsh sociopolitical climates on refugee populations in the Middle East and the effects of epigenetic changes on physiological disease patterns throughout the human lifespan. Furthermore, Melina studies the interaction between genetic processes and the different ways that populations have culturally and socially mediated their fixated biologies and environmental limitations. She is also interested in human evolution and Egyptology.
